Bordesley Abbey and Forge Mill
Legless Monks - Submitted by R. A. Green
I have seen the legless monks travelling down toward Bordesley Corner. One overcast, but clear afternoon about mid 1960, I was trout fishing in the little stream that feeds into the Arrow, the one that runs South behind the Bordesley Abbey site, when I caught a glimpse of two figures, in cassocks, heading down the road toward Bordesley corner The strange thing was that, although I had a clear view of the road from beneath the hedge row, I could not see their legs. I could only see their head and shoulders. I have since found out that I am not the only person to see them.

The Black Dog Of Arden
The ghost of the notorious Guy de Beauchamp, 10th Earl or Warwick, is reputed to wander through the ruins of the abbey, as a Black Dog!

Herne The Hunter
Herne is said to have killed a sacred stag belonging to the Abbess of Bordesley Abbey. In consequence, he was compelled to ride the night sky with his hunt. Strange really when you look into who Herne really is and the fact that there never was an Abbess of Bordesley Abbey!
