Old Man - Mayfields Park - Southcrest - Anon
I have a story that happened near Mayfields park (the one opposite Matalan). Years ago my sister and I were walking through the park and then cut through the bushes to walk along Southcrest. We saw an elderly man coming towards us and didn't think much of it until our dog started to go nuts at him. Her fur was up, she was on her back legs, teeth showing and barking and barking but would not go past this man (we had to physically drag her in the end). Not once did he look up and or even acknowledge us. We had that dog for over 10 years and that was the one and only time she ever did that to anyone or anything. Looking back now, we think it was a ghost as it was so strange that she did that. I appreciate this man could have been deaf but he would have seen her as she was right in his way but he didn't flinch or do anything. He didn't even look at the dog or us, he just kept walking towards us with his head looking down. He was walking in long grass as well but looked almost like he was gliding through the grass.
