Mai Cafe formerly Cafe Mambo @ No. 5 (Now Closed) - Church Green East - Anon
Cafe Mambo opened in March 2013. It had been stood empty for 3 years and before then was a solicitors, it was originally a house. The place was built in 1854 and was designed by the same person as next doors Beech House. Although it is a beautiful place to be, decorated well, nice food etc, they seem to have a few ghosts that have been reported. A man has been seen in a trench coat, looking like a World War 1 soldier on the 1st floor usually stood around the toilet area. Another man has been seen by staff in the Bistro area on the ground floor. Shadows and the odd figure have also been reported at the back of the building too. Back in June 2013, a ghost investigation has held at the bistro. They were not told about any of the experience that people have had, only that it was haunted. They reported that they saw and felt the presence of a World War 1 soldier that may have lived in the house, a man downstairs and a little boy called James or Peter. They also told us of an evil man who had abused people in the house called Victor. People have sensed a presence near the toilets on the first floor, one saying that he felt like he was pushed down the stairs!

Rocktave Music Teaching Studios (Now Closed) - Church Green East - Anon
Rocktave is situated above Cafe Mambo on the 2nd floor and was also investigated along with Cafe Mambo. On the first day of entering the building, a dominating presence was felt in one of the teaching rooms, this happened to be the room that 'Victor' had abused people. One Sunday morning before opening, one of the owners was doing some work while his son was talking to the other owner in another room. They all heard the shout of a young boy come from downstairs shouting, 'Dad, dad', they all came out of the rooms and looked all around the whole building, no one was to be seen. A week or so later, one of them was sat working on the computer when something made him turn towards the door. He saw a little boy peering around the door. As he got up to take a look, the boy had gone. He has been seen on numerous occasions since then. Perhaps it was the same little boy that the ghost investigators had found? One evening, water was all over one of the computers, soaking paper work etc. The roof was checked out for leaks, ceiling was dry, nothing could explain it.

The White Lady - Beech House - The Black Tap Brew Pub - Church Green East - Anon
Sightings have been made over the years of a lady in a white dress, looking out of various windows of Beech House. She has also been seen leaving the front door and walking by the water fountain and the bandstand. People have witnessed a woman looking out of various windows at the back of the property and have felt 'uneasy' around the building.
Beech House was built around 1854 - 1855 and was owned by the Warrin family, well known needle makers from the town. The Redditch Heritage Society have put some interesting details on their website about the Warrin family: http://www.redditchheritage.org.uk/rm-jw-frame-page.html
Here are some accounts from people who worked at Beech House when it was a solicitors:
I used to work there. Definitely haunted. We used to have to lock two doors that lead to two separate buildings. One night as we put the key in the door, something pulled the door and it shook. A figure was spotted at the top of the main staircase. A lady apparently hung herself in one of the rooms upstairs and it was reported that she was heard crying a few times.
I also used to work there about 23 years ago. Many a time I had to be there until midnight. Very creepy place.
I heard this too, I worked there about 23 years ago and the staircase was definitely haunted. If carrying heavy folders, the weight of the folders would go, the folders did not move just the weight of them. Also the strong room (cellar) was definitely haunted, the lights went off on me on numerous occasions, and files would also be moved. Very creepy place always felt as if someone was watching you. I worked there between 1987 to 1992.

Grumpy Old Lady - Webb House - Church Green East - Anon
An old lady in Victorian dress has been seen looking very grumpy/angry in Webb House, perhaps an ancestor of the Webb family?
