Haunted Redditch Pubs
The Abbeydale Club - Anon
A few years ago, we booked the Abbeydale club for a private party. Its a huge room, holds about 180 people. As we were setting up the food in the skittle alley, we felt a cold presence. When we turned towards the door to go back into the function room, 2 of us saw a man walking through it away from us. He was tall, about 6'4" and was very broad, scared the hell out of us. Members of staff have also had paranormal experiences. The doors at the back of the function room are pushed open when no one is in the club, chairs have been moved, noises come from the cellar and the door in the bar area opens on its own.
Below is a video that was taken in 2016 that went viral. You can see the doors open on there own and a chair move.

Monks in the Pub - The Barley Mow
Supposedly built on a graveyard, monks have been seen wondering around and people have also experienced poltergeist activity.
The Bell - Astwood Bank
People have reported shadows and footsteps wondering around the pub. Lights have been turned on and off, glasses and cutlery moving and taps being turned on. A woman has been seen on many occasions.
Hooded Woman - The Brook Inn - Anon
One night, I was in the Brook until after closing time with a few friends and the bar staff. We were all having a laugh and a joke when a hooded figure walked through the door and straight through the bar, we were all gob-smacked. The owners at the time said that they had seen her before and also a little girl in the garden. A man has also been seen.
The Sportsmans Arms - Peakman Street - Anon
The ghost of a previous landlord has been seen on many occasions by landlords and customers.
The Queens Head - Queen Street - Town Centre
An old pub under new management, nice place to be! Staff and customers have experienced doors opening and closing on there own, light anomalies, shadow figures, temperature drops. Ghostly dogs have been seen and felt in the cellar.

The Washford Mill
A couple of ghosts in there! One in the mill bar that goes through the wheel and an old man who used to sit in one of the alcoves by the kitchen between the two bars! I used to hate cashing up on my own there...used to peg it through the bars turning lights off!
The White Hart - Headless Cross - Anon
Haunted by a man who used to own it who died while having sex with his mistress while his wife was away. I used to work there, the cellars and the top floors were well creepy.
The Coach House - Astwood Bank - Anon
Well there was the time when I was chilling with a couple of friends in the living area above the pub, we were watching TV and having a few drinks. The pub was being renovated at the time, so we pretty much had the run of the place.
The toilet upstairs was situated down a very long narrow corridor that went round a corner at the end that lead to a single wooden door. Eventually nature called so I walked off down the corridor round the corner and went through the wooden door to the bathroom. I washed my hands and went to leave. Now the door, had a old style bolt and latch, much like you'd find on a garden gate, pretty simple, no fuss. I slid the bolt across lifted the latch and tried to open the door, it was a pulling and it wouldn't budge. But here's the weird thing, the door was wobbling and felt like someone was at the other side holding it. My immediate thought was that my friend was playing a prank on me and came down to hold the door. But all of a sudden, the door swiftly opened. No one was there, I ran to forward to the corner and looked down the long narrow corridor to see my friend, still sat in the armchair supping on his ale, there was no way he could of ran down the hall without me seeing him. I did the usual thing of closing and opening the door a few times, but I couldn't replicate what just happened. and still to this day, it creeps me out.

The Ghosts Of Time - Time/Moo Moo's Nightclub (Now Closed)
I'm writing this as these are true facts and when you experience encounters like this they are truly horrifying and life changing. I would like to point out that I'm not a drinker or take any sought of drugs. I worked at Time nightclub from 2005/6 in Redditch and got a job as a barman and eventually a cellar man. I loved my job at first and couldn't wait to get to work on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Whilst the club had no activity whilst it was open the strange happenings used to be once the club was shut, or while I used to work there while putting away drinks on a Friday morning, or Saturday. Many unexplained bangs would happen or noises that you couldn't describe. The cellar you would have always have someone like watching you down there whilst changing a keg. A bottle would break and fall without any reason or the ramp occasionally would go down or up by itself for a short distance. What was really horrifying is when you was putting away the drinks from the night before and it was dark I sometimes would see a black shape glide across the light from the cigarette machine or have a presence stand and watch you.
Many times I would find myself making stupid excuses for the paranormal activity but in the end you accept something is going on. Let me ask you this question, where there are no patrons and the club is shut and you hear footsteps and no one else is in the club, how can you explain these things? I often would cut my day short and find myself going back later in the day or next morning feeling fearful. I'm glad I will never have to work there again and the memories will always will remain. Even to this day it still haunts me.

New Salsa Halloween Party - The Foxlydiate Arms - Saturday 31.10.09
Because of my career in The World of Psychology I usually have an explanation for "The Unexplained" etc. I usually find most "strange goings on" have a logical reason, before and after this experience I have never seen a ghost but I am left baffled by my experience at New Salsa's Halloween Party at The Foxlydiate Arms on Saturday 31.10.09
During the party, three contestants were to be selected that had the best Halloween outfits, one would win some super prizes.
One contestant was an obvious choice , she was dressed as a corpse bride , wearing what I can only describe as "theatrical make up". The other contestants were A Dracula from Redditch & An Edward Scissor Hands from Kidderminster. When it came to inviting the contestants forward, Dracula & Edward came forward , but there was no sign of The Corpse Bride. time was filled in by playing tunes for everyone to freestyle while a search was launched for the third contestant.
Having finally found her . the contest began. The winner was to be decided by way of audience applause. I was certain that The Corpse Bride would win , she had by far the most spookiest outfit. The audience were invited to "make some noise " for The Corpse Bride - the result was low level applause & laughter. When applause was invited for Edward Scissor Hands , The roof nearly came off - Dracula medium applause. The same procedure followed, even less applause for The Corpse Bride, while everyone went nuts for Edward . The M.C. apologised to The Corpse Bride explaining that there were many people from Kidderminster in attendance & they clearly cheered for their mate.
I remember the M.C. saying to The Corpse Bride, "If it was up to him you would be the winner ."
Now here is where things got strange, after the party as I am helping collecting and clearing everything up, New Salsa members came up the host to say goodbye, great party etc. some said, "Why did you do that joke twice ?" He said "What joke?", "The Corpse Bride one", apparently they claimed that there was no one standing next to him & that there were only two contestants.
However some of the audience did see The Corpse Bride during the contest and during the evening.
It seemed to be split 50/50 some said, "we saw her" some saying that, "there was no one there!".
Because of the large crowd that came, everyone had to purchase a ticket beforehand, there was a register on the door for everyone to sign in. After the party, every ticket could easily be allocated to every member that attended, except one, The Corpse Bride. Her name was not signed in on the register and I met every party attendee at New Salsa's dance classes in the weeks & months that followed the party ... except one The Corpse Bride.
